all-on-4

All-on-4

The all-on-4 treatment protocol has proven its success with approximately 10 years of patient follow-up, but it has been applied more widely in recent years. All-on-4 is performed using an implant in case of complete tooth deficiency.

Treatments that can be done in completely toothless individuals are as follows:

1-Tissue supported prostheses (Full prosthesis)
2-Implant supported removable dentures
3-Implant supported fixed prostheses.

In order to make implant-supported fixed prostheses, in the case of using traditional implant treatment methods, an average of 6-8 implants should be made on one chin.

When we think about the individuals to be implanted in these numbers, we have to accept that most of them are toothless for a long time or if they lose their teeth at an early age, they experience serious bone loss. This means that in these individuals, sometimes bone formation is required before implant surgery, which not only increases the number of surgical procedures to be performed, but also prolongs the treatment period, increases the cost and increases the likelihood of complications related to the procedures. Bone formation processes can become even more troublesome since patients with bone formation are more likely to have age-related or congenital systemic problems. In fully edentulous patients, the presence of the canal in the upper jaw and the nerve that takes the sensation of our teeth, lips and gums in the lower jaw can be an obstacle in treatments. Here the All-on-4 protocol allows the dentist to bypass said anatomical obstacles. The implants, which are placed at angular or inclined regions in the posterior regions, are placed in a tangential and inclined manner in the sinus and mandibular nerve canal and carry the prosthesis together with the other two implants made in the anterior regions.

Placing the implants at an angle not only saves the patient from additional surgery, prolonged treatment time and additional costs; it also allows the implant to be placed longer in the person’s own jaw bone than the traditional method we can do. One of the most important advantages of the all-on-4 procurement protocol is that a fixed temporary tooth can be attached to the patient within 24 hours of implant placement. When the necessary conditions arise, rarely this may not be achieved, our patients have the temporary teeth they will use for 6 months and spend the time comfortably until they have permanent prostheses without any nutrition or aesthetic problems.

Defects in the jaw bones, atrophies or problems with smile aesthetics can be completed more easily and much more aesthetically than with other systems with the All-on-4 treatment protocol.
